Living Lord Lutheran Gives To Local Community Organization

Our Father's Table Soup Kitchen, founded in 1988, serves food to the disabled and elderly in the immediate Gifford area. Their dining room provides meals to between 40 to 50 individuals each day, Monday through Friday. In addition, they prepare and deliver meals to over 80 homebound individuals 6 days per week. In 2024, Our Father's Table Soup Kitchen reported that they served 37,480 meals! Our Father's Table receives no government funds. The supplies for their meals come from the generosity of local individuals, businesses and churches, including Living Lord Lutheran!

In 2024, Living Lord Lutheran partnered with Our Father's Table to provide 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches each week to ensure homebound Gifford residents receive an additional meal. It may not seem like much, but for disabled and elderly individuals, this sandwich may be all they eat over the weekend. Nearly every Thursday, Living Lord Lutheran volunteers, including Dr. Dave Wallace, Clare Kaelin, Rosalie Fanlo, Bob and Kathy Bender, Jeff Konopacki, and Pastor Greg Shreaves, prepare and package 100 sandwiches. On Fridays, Dr. Dave hand-delivers the sandwiches to the very grateful volunteers at Our Father's Table.

On March 29, 2025, Living Lord Lutheran's Volunteers held a Pasta Night Dinner. Led by Living Lord Lutheran's resident Italian chef extraordinaire, Pete Battaglio, and Church Council President, Dr. Dave Wallace, the intent of the Pasta Night Dinner was to raise funds for Our Father's Table Soup Kitchen in Gifford, Florida. What resulted was not only a financial donation but also a donation of yet another meal to Our Father's Table - including pasta, authentic homemade meatballs and marinara sauce, and salad!

Living Lord Lutheran Church is very proud of our partnership with Our Father's Table Soup Kitchen! Our Church Members - indeed the heart of our Church - love giving back to our community!
